I am looking forward to serving on the Plano ISD school board as a trustee because I believe in Plano ISD. I learned the value of education from my father. When he came to this country, he could barely speak English. With hard work and perseverance, he earned a Master’s degree, and Ph.D., and went on to do, and lead research for the USDA for almost 40 years. Education was the key to his success – essential to our family’s American dream.
Katherine Chan Goodwin made the local news in Austin advocating for public education, our district, and our kids. Katherine joined PISD students, PTA parents, PISD educators/administrators, and board members at a rally in Austin to support of Plano ISD. They lobbied lawmakers to fix recapture which is draining PISD financially and to pay teachers what they deserve. Listen Here
